About Us
An ancient design from Yaozhou.
Water enters from below — never spills.
This is a reverse-flow teapot from Yaozhou.
It has no lid and no opening on the top.
You pour water in from a small hole at the bottom —
and when you turn it upright, it doesn’t leak at all. It’s a beautiful combination of ancient ceramic art and early hydraulic wisdom.
Olive-Green Celadon Glaze
A warm olive tone with a jade-like softness, achieved through precise kiln control. Subtle crackles and glassy depth reflect the mastery of high-temperature firing.
Deep Carving Technique
Each line is hand-carved with angled blades, cutting firmly into the clay. The patterns are sharp, layered, and alive — a signature of Northern Song craftsmanship.
Precision Through 17 Steps
From clay preparation to final firing, every stage demands timing and discipline. Carving must happen at the exact moment — neither too wet nor too dry.
Heritage.
Craft.
Continuity.
Rooted in the thousand-year legacy of Yaozhou Kiln, we are committed to preserving one of China’s most refined celadon traditions.
We strictly uphold traditional craftsmanship — from clay preparation to carving and high-temperature firing — honoring the discipline that defined its historic excellence.
Each piece reflects not only technique, but continuity: a living heritage shaped by history and carried forward with respect.

Artistic Biography
Meng Shufeng was born in 1955 in Shaanxi Province, China, into a distinguished ceramic family. In 1980, he graduated from Jingdezhen Ceramic University. For decades, he has led ceramic enterprises and research institutions in the Yaozhou kiln region, dedicating himself to leadership, scientific research, and innovation in ceramic arts.
In 1974, under the mentorship of Mr. Li Guozhen, he participated in the research and successful revival of Yaozhou celadon, a tradition that had been lost for over 800 years. Subsequently, he independently restored Shaanxi folk porcelain traditions, expanded their international market presence, and established export-oriented ceramic production and research institutions while cultivating professional technical teams.
In the early 21st century, he led the successful national application for the inscription of “Yaozhou Kiln Ceramic Firing Techniques” as one of China’s first batch of National Intangible Cultural Heritage projects. He also established the theoretical foundation and developmental framework for these ceramic traditions.
Meng’s works are known for their solid structural foundation, rigorous craftsmanship, and elegant expressiveness. His pieces have been widely exhibited domestically and internationally, earning numerous awards and being collected by institutions and private collectors.
He has published major works including The Collection of Meng Shufeng’s Yaozhou Celadon and Generations of Potters, along with multiple academic papers. He has presided over numerous national and provincial research projects and holds multiple national invention patents. He is recognized as one of the few Masters of Chinese Arts and Crafts who fully command the complete traditional ceramic production process.
Meng Shufeng is a State Council Special Allowance Expert and a Distinguished Expert of Shaanxi Province. He is internationally regarded as both a virtuous artist and a respected cultural scholar in the field of ceramics. He is also among the first officially recognized Representative Inheritors of National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
He serves as a Visiting Research Fellow at the China National Academy of Arts, a Master’s Supervisor at Jingdezhen Ceramic University and Shaanxi University of Science and Technology, a Visiting Professor at Zhejiang University and Pingdingshan University, Senior Consultant to the China Building and Sanitary Ceramics Association, and Vice President of the Ceramic Branch of the China Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Association.
